Overview

A residence is an area of land that you purchase (with in-game money) which you can control permissions on. You are able to control various things (called flags)including: PvP, build, use, container, and many others.

The cost of a residence is $0.01 per block. to find the total cost of the plot you want multiply the ( length X width X height X 0.01 ). For example a 16x16 plot from bedrock to sky (128) is $327. Alternatively when you select an area you can use /res select size you get the price.

Creating a Residence

Method one "Wooden Hoe"

  1. Get a wooden hoe.
  2. To select an area, left click one corner of the area with the hoe, this will select the primary point. Right click the opposite corner (including Height), this will select the secondary point.
  3. With the two points selected you will have an imaginary rectangular prism selected.
  4. /res select size - will allow you to see the size and price.
  5. /bal - to see how much money you have.
  6. /res create [ResidenceName] - where [ResidenceName] = a name of your choosing for your res.
  7. Enjoy your new claimed & protected land

Method two "Command selection"

  1. stand in the center of where you want your res to cover (your feet are the absolute center block).
  2. /bal - to see how much money you have.
  3. /res select x y z - (x, y and z being half of the size you want your res to be) e.g /res select 20 20 20 will create a selection of 41W x 41H x 41L (the center blocks counted as the "1" of each)
  4. /res create [ResidenceName] - where [ResidenceName] = a name of your choosing for your res.
  5. Enjoy your new claimed & protected land

Flags

Flags are what define the permissions players have within a res, you can set flags for all people or for singular people, this allows you to control what goes on in the res.

By default some flags are set to false when you create the res, these flags are:

  • container
  • Ignight
  • Firespread
  • Mayor
  • Use
  • Butcher
  • Pvp
  • Build
  • TNT
  • tp

you as the owner will have all flags set to true by default.

Adding Player Permissions To Your Residence

You are able to set permissions to other users inside your residence. The Commands are divided in two

  • /res set [ResidenceName] [Flag] [true/false/remove]
    • is for setting the flags for the entire res, setting these flags will be for everyone, not just a specific person.
    • you are able to do this command without including [ResidenceName] if you are inside the residence.
  • /res pset [ResidenceName] [PlayerName] [flag] [true/false/remove]
    • is for setting the flags for specific players, setting these flags will be for only the players you chose, not everyone.
    • you are able to do this command without including [ResidenceName] if you are inside the residence.

  • To allow everyone to teleport to the residence use the command /res set [ResidenceName] tp true
    • First set a teleport location by standing somewhere in the res and using the command /res tpset
  • To give a player build permission with the command /res pset [ResidenceName] [PlayerName] build true
  • To give a player the ability to open doors (non-lockette) with the command /res pset [ResidenceName] [PlayerName] use true
  • To give a player the ability to open chests (non-lockette) with the command /res pset [ResidenceName] [PlayerName] container true

Expanding a Residence

After you've created a residence, you can still expand it. Face the direction in which you wish to expand the res and type the following:

  1. Stand in the res you wish to expand.
  2. /res select residence [ResidenceName] main - will make a selection the same size and place as your existing residence.
  3. /res select size - check the size.
  4. /res select expand [amount] - where [amount] = number of blocks to expand.
  5. /res select size - check the size has expanded.
  6. /res area replace [ResidenceName] main - to finalize thus expanding the residence.
  • For expansions it will charge you only for that extra amount of blocks you have expanded into.
  • Since November 2015 residence has been a little bit buggy, please stand inside the res when you are selecting it, or you'll lag the server. If however you do select a residence whilst outside of it just re-log it should remove the selection.
  • A bug has been noted where sometimes the plugin will expand or shift in the wrong direction so always check whether it has expanded the correct direction with /res select coords.
  • Shifting works exactly the same except you will be moving the res in the direction you're facing. Shifting has been disabled on our server

Moving an existing Residence

If you wish to take an existing residence and put it in a completely different location follow these steps:

  1. /res select residence [ResidenceName] main - will make a selection the same size and place as your existing residence.
  2. /res select size - check the size, note that size for #3
  3. find the new location and its exact center, stand on the block that is beneath the center block (the center block will be foot level)
  4. /res select x y z - (x, y and z being half of the size from step 2) e.g /res select 20 20 20 will create a selection of 41W x 41H x 41L (the center blocks counted as the "1" of each)
  5. /res area replace [ResidenceName] main - to finalize thus moving the residence.
  • If you select larger than the exisitng res you will be charged for the amount of blocks added, if you select smaller you will not be charged but you'll be wasting money.
  • Moving a res will delete areas/subzones the res had.
  • The original tp point will still be where it is set, set it again with /res tpset if you want a new tp location.

and viola! you have moved a residence,

Commands

  • /res set [ResidenceName] [flag] [true/false/remove] - set flags on residences.
  • /res message enter [text] allows you to enter [text] to change what the text that shows up when you enter the res will say. (leave [text] blank for no enter message)
  • /res message leave [text] allows you to enter [text] to change what the text that shows up when you Leave the res will say. (leave [text] blank for no leave message)

Known Plugin Bugs

  • On occasion, when expanding a res in the X direction, the plugin will expand the res in the direction opposite of the one the player is facing. It is recommended that you watch the direction the plugin expands in, and check the coordinates before finalizing the change.
  • Selecting a large residence you are not in can lag the server horrendously.
